after the storm at nautilus teachings

after the storm-
stillness,
an eerie calm,
dampness
has saturated
all the eye can see
the lens is clean
all the smudges
and fingerprints
are gone
there is emptiness
and beauty
unfurling
leaves have been
washed away
nuts pushed
by the force of the
downpour
now lay scattered
almost
hidden in the
long grasses
which appear to have grown
5 inches over night
tiny buds
now begin to reveal
the hidden color
of the gift
which will one day
burst forth
tickling our sense
of smell
inviting us to come closer…

life is like this
after an argument
the body is depleted
it wanders
footpaths
trying to regain
momentum
but the churning
has dissipated
and the seas
now aquamarine blue
with tiny silver fish
skittering
in the current
beckon you
to cleanse your soul
in the salted waters
of the vast ocean
to float buoyantly
all the while
releasing
all
to
God…

IMG_6552
you are in recovery mode
like the reboot
of a television set
that was just zapped
from a power break
one by one
the dot, dot, dots
of memory
flood back upon you
like a surface current
filling you with the
pinging of electricity
you remember
the deluge
the words
the pain
the tsunami of tears shed
yet you are no longer
exhausted
you have forgiven
trusted the love shared
to ooze back into
your body
opening the camera-eye
and clarifying
you are loved…

IMG_6545
just as the waving
green sea grasses
blossom
with brilliant hues of yellow
from the feeding of the fresh water
rippling their roots
inspiring them to
open
revealing their
true luminescence,
the heart
responds to
the words
“i’m sorry,
please forgive me…”
the touch of a hand
the familiar embrace
and the kiss that says,
“i love you,
i trust you
we are magnificent…”
in stillness faith blooms
truths are revealed
acceptance heals
and trust is earned…
just as seedlings are nourished
with water, sunshine and
patience
so to has true love
fully grown, ripened
and ebbed into
a harmonious flow
which nurtures us
placing us openly
heart to beating heart
within the palm
of God’s hand.
