being carried by faith at nautilus teachings

she stood
through many storms
her body felt
like a neglected
with peeling
chipped paint
screens blown out
cracked windows
her front porch
in need of repair
but her foundation
for it was her
anchored her…
she found that
every time she walked
pieces of her
clung to warm
and when she cried
each tear reflected
the colors
she held within,
yet the puddles
which they formed
were like blurry
of a life
she chose
to leave behind…
and then
one day
the wind blew
from the north
sending shivers
down her entire being
and with every
goose bump raised
tiny mosaic pieces of her
fell to the ground…
she watched, as they appeared
to pile up
like dripped sandcastles
encircling her,
tempting to
‘step over her life’
she raised her foot
and began…

once clear of the
towered past
the wind settled
swirled around her
enveloping her
in a cocoon of
protected warmth…
this is what
self love feels like
why it is so
important for her to grow.
she smiled,
not just because
she was filled with happiness
full of
the most peaceful calm
that the idea
the very thought
of fear
left her…
she could breathe.
she turned
face to the wind
and began a new path
toward others…
it was time
for her to leave
her cornered world
use her voice
listen with her soul
allow her faith
to buoy her
in the knowing
God has her back
which allows her
to have someone else’s…
taking a deep breath in
she closed her eyes
the scars of her past
no longer oozed poison
she was healed
released of the burden
of carrying the sins
of those who
sought her out as their target…
her old shell
was now completely
cracked away,
like that of a hardboiled egg
revealing her pliable body
a bit saggy in places
skin looking crepe
a few wrinkles around
her eyes
but the light that
radiated from all those
cracked places
was filled with love…

one of her favorite poems was,

footprints in the sand…

One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.
After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.
This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
“Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You’d walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don’t understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me.”
He whispered, “My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you.”

this was now her mission
to help carry the sadness
some people felt
to hold them
letting them know
from this moment on
not only will God carry them,
but this ole’ girl
has their back too…
this was her mission
for the second half of her life…
head now pointed towards
God’s light
she gave Him a wink
and whispered,
“i am yours Lord, use me…”
