him and her at nautilus teachings

my breath
my breath

he is there
armored
with strength
faith
unconditional love
silliness
the ability to make
you forget all fears
and belly laugh.
his scars
hidden beneath
the freckled shell
of a life lived well
mistakes?
a few…
educated?
he’s Einstein…
losses?
many…
fears?

some,
but for the most part
he can swing
from vine to vine
like george of the jungle
only slipping
never falling…
he’s been bitten
by a shark
had 9 knee surgeries
a plate put in his hip
many twisted ankles
a broken hand bone
had MRSA
several times
rarely gets a cold
heals fast
and has a laugh
that spreads happiness…
he hugs and kisses
everyone
works longs hours
and no matter day or night
he heals those who’s life
he touches…
you will catch him surfing
paddle boarding,
at the gym, working in the yard
playing with the dogs
cleaning the pool
and taking short 20 minute
sleep of the dead naps
when needed.
he
never
stops…

running in the rain

she is a blonde haired mess
allergic to many foods,
smells,
danders…
comes from
a life of
sadness
but walks
with strength
in her faith
she loves to grow her hair
to paint pictures
to write words
to cuddle with her dogs
silence
candle light
meditation
soft music
requires 9 hours of sleep minimum
and a glass of titos at night
you will catch her
creating
teaching
cleaning
she’s a control freak
loves to cook
her morning run feeds her soul
and must must must
have her coffee and power bar
to start her day…
she is a giver
a lover
wounded easily
she is just now
finding, walking
sharing her truths…
her passion
is healing
through art
writing and faith
never the athlete
only the pom pom girl
she lost her best friend
and mom
when she was 25
never healed
and never got
another bff…
she is claustrophobic
suffers from anxiety
and lives
in a water world
of blue currents
she created
when she was a girl
under the red wooden steps,
wise old mr. hawksbill
as her guide
whimsical fish as her friends
and seagrasses
which sang to her
in the calming, healing
warm turquoise waters
of her youth.
he saw her.
she ran away.
he found her.
she couldn’t speak.
day after day
she let him
seep slowly into her
and she began to rise
up
towards
life
faith
acceptance
and love…

Lord, hold my heart
Lord, hold my heart

he loved her.
she loved him.
they married.
she finds protection
behind his armor
he makes her laugh
when she is sad or angry
she loves to look at him
watch him
wishes she too could be
strong
wise
fearless…
he loves her anyway…
together
they have woven a life
of love
trust
goofiness…
they share
their life with
their 5 kids
blended of course
and his mom
they feel blessed
and grateful
together
they talk about aging
they dream about
traveling
building a new house
more grandkids
but mostly
just about
nothing
for in their silence
in those quiet moments
in the car
on the sofa
sleeping beside
one another
there is always
the look,
the touch
the kiss
and the holding of hands
which says over and over
i chose you
i choose you now
together
we’ve got this…
